Every local business has a story.
Maybe it’s a family business that’s been passed down through generations. Maybe it’s the dream you’ve worked nights and weekends to build. Maybe it’s a new venture that’s just getting started.
Whatever chapter you’re in, your business deserves protection that’s built around your unique needs.
At Yetter Insurance Agency, we help businesses throughout Milford, Pike County, and the surrounding communities protect what they’ve worked so hard to build with personalized business insurance solutions and trusted local guidance.
As an independent insurance agency, we compare coverage from multiple insurance carriers to help you find the right protection for your business today and as it grows.
Small businesses do more than create jobs. They sponsor Little League teams. Support local nonprofits. Welcome visitors. Employ our neighbors. Strengthen our local economy.
At Yetter Insurance, we understand that because we’re one of them.
As a second-generation family-owned business ourselves, we know the pride, responsibility, and uncertainty that come with owning a business. That’s why we believe protecting local businesses means protecting our entire community.
Every business is different, and your insurance should reflect that.
We’ll work with you to build coverage that fits your operations, industry, employees, and long-term goals.
The types of business insurance you need depend on how your business operates, the services you provide, your employees, property, vehicles and the risks you face every day.
Most businesses should consider general liability insurance to help protect against claims involving bodily injury or property damage. If you own or lease a building, equipment or inventory, commercial property coverage may also be important. Businesses with employees may need workers’ compensation coverage, while professional liability, cyber liability and other specialized coverage may make sense depending on your industry.
If you or your employees use vehicles for work, you may also need commercial auto insurance, as a personal auto policy may not provide coverage for business-related use.
There isn’t one insurance package that works for every business. At Yetter Insurance, we’ll take the time to understand how your business actually operates, identify your risks and help you build coverage that makes sense for you.
A Business Owner’s Policy or a Commercial Package Policy work much like a homeowner’s policy. It combines a few elements of insurance together – Structures or buildings, Liability, Business Personal Property, Income Loss, and Equipment Breakdown. It can include other endorsements as well depending on the needs for your business.
In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as the State of New York, if you have employees, you must have Workers’ Compensation insurance. Please note that if you are a Pennsylvania business that does work in New York, you must make sure your Worker’s Compensation policy specifically lists New York.
This is a hard question to answer! We recommend that you at least cover your business with liability limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. You may need more depending on your business exposures. A business umbrella policy may help you cover additional liability needs.
If your business entities are owned by the same individuals, you may bundle the policies. Please note that we don’t recommend this. If you are bundling the coverage, you are sharing those limits and it may not be enough coverage for each entity.
At the very least, you ought to be reviewing your insurance policies annually. If you are changing the exposures – i.e. different locations or services are added – you need to talk with us first!
Your insurance should grow with your business.
Adding employees, purchasing equipment, expanding your services, or moving to a new location are all great times to review your business insurance. A quick conversation today can help prevent costly gaps in coverage tomorrow.
